The chapter opens up with Colin watching the sunrise and grieving over the fact that he barely got any sleep because he kept staring at the next door to be aware of any kind of screaming or fighting sound. He says that if he really saw a splash of blood on the window or some bright lightning, then his fragile heart wouldn’t have been able to take the shock from it.
Colin feels sad that even though the sun has risen, he still can’t stop shivering and trembling. He wonders when Father Vincent will return with some good news, like exorcizing the evil living next door from him. Suddenly Colin’s phone beeps, and he starts celebrating because it must be a reply from Father Vincent.
All of Colin’s happiness goes away after reading the message. In the message, Father Vincent tells Colin that he has misunderstood the situation as the bookstore owner next door is a kind and passionate man. He also states that he has been transferred to some other district which means that Colin would have to contact another Priest for his problem.
Colin starts crying uncontrollably, and he cries even more than when his father died. Colin thinks that Father Vincent and his lackeys must have been brainwashed by the demons, which means that they are practically dead, and so he prays for their better afterlife.
Colin then thinks about what he can do because even Father Vincent is gone now. After being sad for so long, Colin’s tears turn into anger, and he decides to stop relying on others and take matters into his hand. He rises from the ground in enormous range and declares that he won’t fear his neighbor anymore and prove that he is not someone who can be bullied easily.
Colin walks out of his house with full confidence, and he decides that on this day, he will face the demon and unveil his true face to the world. All that big talk, but Colin gets scared the moment he steps out of his house, so he immediately goes back in and curls up in a corner. He says that he wasn’t afraid. He just didn’t have the right equipment to face such a strong opponent.
Colin remembers that he had some holy water lying around in his house, so he starts searching for it. He eventually finds the holy water, but it turns out to be a tiny amount that won’t even affect a demon. While returning from the basement, Colin finds a mysterious gold coin which he remembers as his family’s treasure.
Colin remembers the time when he was eight years old, and his father told him that this gold coin provided the Colins with tremendous luck and power, which is the source of their wealth. After recalling the entire history of the Coin, Colin gets even more motivated, and so he once again walks out of his house to face the demon living next door.
This time Colin arrives at the bookstore, and he slams the door open to announce his arrival. He kept his eyes close all this time, but as soon as he opened them, he found himself in front of Lin and five mysterious men.
Colin looks at the emblem on their dresses and realizes that they are from the biggest merchandise trading organization in Nokin, The Ash Market.
