Namgoong finally breaks his character to apologize to Haewon, but in an unexpected turn of events, Haewon chooses not to accept Namgoong’s apology. In Haewon’s defense, she only does this so that she can build Namgoong’s character, as she knows that he’s the main character.
Now that Namgoong has decided to join hands with Haewon, what will happen next? As Haewon prepares for war, fans can only wonder what might happen!
The Chapter opens up With Haewon having a conversation with Namgoong and Jowoon. Namgoong stops Haewon as he considers that what he just said could cause the Dan clan to become enemies with the entire murim. Haewon accepts that she made a mistake because she overestimated Namgoong’s ability to judge things sensibly.
Recap
Haewon then asks Namgoong if he has gotten his head together or if he is just going to stay hopeless. Namgoong gets tensed because of Haewon’s thorn-like taunts, but he can’t do anything. Jowoon wonders what’s wrong with Haewon and Namgoong, while Haewon thinks that she may have been a little too harsh just now.
Haewon thinks that her anger is kinda justified as this is not the first time she got swept into something that almost killed her, but still, her male lead is an idiot who can’t think with a clear head. Haewon tells Namgoong to be a little more careful from now on.
Despite Haewon’s best efforts to sound nice, her words still come out as thorns aimed at Namgoong. Haewon further adds that she has never been wrong since the day she broke her engagement with Namgoong. She says that since that day, she has been thinking with a clear head so she knows who’s on her side and who’s not.
Namgoong asks Haewon if she considers him to be on her side, but Haewon replies that he should figure that out on his own. Jowoon silently listens to this argument and wonders if there are still sentiments left between Namgoong and Haewon. He looks at Namgoong and wonders why he looks so pitiful even though he was the one who broke off the engagement.
Namgoong says that he thought a lot after the Shaolin incident, and he came to realize how rude he was back then. Namgoong tells Haewon that he’s truly sorry for everything he has done. Haewon wonders if Namgoong is sincerely apologizing to her or if he’s truly being sincere this time.
Haewon thinks that this argument is necessary as it would help Namgoong, the main character, to mature as he has always been way too simple-minded. Haewon also thinks that this incident may also mean that Namgoong won’t become the main character.
Haewon tells Namgoong that his apology doesn’t mean much if his actions are different. She further adds that she won’t accept Namgoong’s apology just because he broke his noble pride and apologized to her. Namgoong is shocked by hearing Haewon’s rejection.
Haewon says that Namgoong probably didn’t expect her to turn down his apology and ignore him. She further adds that Namgoong can apologize to her as much as he wants but he should know that the world doesn’t revolve around him.
Jowoon continues to listen to the argument from a distance. He wonders if Haewon is called a villainess because she’s so mean to everyone. He then looks towards Namgoong and sees how pitiful he’s looking. Jowoon fails to understand why Namgoong even thought of marrying a woman like this.
Meanwhile, Haewon also feels a little sad for Namgoong as she dumps all of her anger on him just because she finds him annoying as a main character. Haewon thinks that maybe Namgoong needed to hear such harsh words as he would be useful for her in the long run.
Haewon tells Namgoong that even though she didn’t accept his apology, she still believes in his good nature and so she would like to combine their strengths. Haewon inquires about her current funds from Soye and then decides to send word to Yunnan Mountains.
Haewon also gives other orders to Soye. Namgoong couldn’t understand what Haewon is trying to achieve but Soye immediately realizes that Haewon is preparing for war. Namgoong gets a bit scared because they lack manpower, but Haewon still believes in him, so she asks him again if he’ll lend his strength.
