Gear up, fellow anime enjoyers, because the official website for the anime adaptation of the light novel series “I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince So I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability” has just dropped an exciting teaser trailer!
This sneak peek treats us to a blend of fresh footage featuring the anime’s characters Tao and Ren, along with scenes released in the previous November 2022 teaser. And that’s not all, because we finally have a premiere date of April 2024! The teaser also revealed that R.O.N (Stereo Dive Foundation) will be composing the music for this animated series.
Another day, another isekai, but are we really complaining? The announcement of yet another isekai in the making stirred up mixed feelings from the anime community. Isekai is where fantasy and reincarnation collide, and so it’s not surprising “I was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince” involves, you guessed it, fantasy and reincarnation. I mean, it’s in the series’ name!

Everything We Know About The 7th Prince
Penned by the talented Kenkyo na Circle and brought to life by the illustrations of Meru, I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability, or I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince, was originally published on the user-generated novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō. The manga adaptation, illustrated by Yōsuke Kokuzawa, was serialized on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website and app in June 2020. The manga has collected 11 volumes as of 2023. It also ranked 8th on the Next Manga Awards in 2021 and sold over 2 million copies.

The Plot and Characters
Meet Prince Lloyd, the magical prodigy who can cast any spell to exist, even as a 10-year-old! In “I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince,” this sorcerer-turned-prince finds himself forced to reincarnate into a new world but refuses to let that slow down his study of magic mastery.
Fully remembering his past life, he has to conquer every challenge thrown at him in this new world, but how will he do that if he’s focused on his studies?!
Only two cast members have been revealed to date; Fairouz Ai voicing Grim and Makoto Koichi voicing Lloyd.
Review of the Light Novel
To tell the truth, reading reviews on this series did not hype me up for this anime adaptation. It made me never want to watch it. Harsh, but it’s the truth. Yes, the main character is overpowered right from the womb, and yes, he’s into the sexy women he’s surrounded by because he likes magic more; but other than this, nothing about the light novel is entertaining.
To talk about the positives, the fight scenes are well- choreographed, and what sets these battles apart is the use of mana as radiant auras, giving the protagonist an intimidating and otherworldly presence. And unfortunately, that’s all the positives there are. As you read the chapters, your release plot lacks a lot of elements.
Now, what completely ruined the series for me was the uncomfortable adult women hitting on this 10-year-old MC. “He isn’t even drawn in a way where he looks like a teen. He is drawn specifically to look like a little boy and is like half the height of everyone else,” said a review, and after reading this, I wasn’t excited about the anime. Oh, and negative points for fan service!
