Jerry O’Connell is already considering his next opportunity after The Talk wrapped up on December 20, 2024. During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, he joked that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills might be his next big gig. “Maybe I can be the first Real Househusband who’s a cast member,” said O’Connell, adding, “I want a diamond! That would be really fun. I think I’d do a great job.”
Despite his enthusiasm for reality TV, O’Connell’s dream of joining a Bravo show might not yet become a reality. He explained that while he is a huge fan of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alongside his wife, actress Rebecca Romijn, his wife might not be as keen on the idea. “My wife won’t do it,” he admitted. “She’s much more private.”
O’Connell and Romijn, who have been married since 2007, are parents to 16-year-old twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly. O’Connell humorously shared that his daughters don’t bring any dramatic headlines, saying, “They’re not vaping… And, at least, so I’m told, aren’t ‘getting with’ anybody, so that’s good.” This laid-back perspective is part of the couple’s private family life.
This isn’t the first time O’Connell has spoken about his desire to be part of the RHOBH universe. In a previous interview with Us Weekly in October 2022, O’Connell confirmed his interest, saying, “Would I consider it? Yes.” He expressed admiration for the husbands of the housewives, like Mauricio Umansky, Ken Todd, and PK Kemsley, and noted that he’d love to hang out with them.
Romijn, however, has expressed reservations about joining the reality TV world. While she enjoys the RHOBH franchise as a fan, she admitted during the same interview that participating in the show probably wasn’t for her. “I really would rather talk about them than be one of them,” she said, noting her preference for the gossip aspect over the drama. She also expressed discomfort with the conflicts that arise on the show.
O’Connell agreed with his wife’s viewpoint, recalling how unsettling it was to witness former RHOBH star Lisa Rinna being booed at BravoCon. “If I got booed at BravoCon, I would leave the country,” he joked, adding that he wasn’t sure he could handle such negativity. He praised Rinna for her resilience, noting, “Lisa Rinna handles it well.”
Though O’Connell’s future with RHOBH may still be uncertain, his light-hearted remarks and fascination with the world of reality television continue to keep fans intrigued.
