Edith Rigelhof is the main lead of the story, which is based in a Dutch household. I Thought It’s A Common Possession follows the miserable life of Edith Rigelhof, which does not change for the better after her wedding.
They say that weddings are one female’s turning point. Edith Rigelhof has always lived this sad and miserable life, hoping for it to change someday. But as the wedding was completely political and lacked love, things never changed for her.
The actual tale of this manga begins and follows the life of Edith Rigelhof after her death when she reincarnates. She is now living the life of a character from the web novel titled Letting Go Of The Obsession. Will her life change now that she is reborn?
Recap
In the previous chapter of I Thought It’s A Common Possession Chapter 39, we saw that Anna had been a maid in the Ducal family for more than ten years. She knows how to be a good model servant for the nobility.
Anna knows not to speak of anything she hears from people she serves. She also knows not to see anything happen between the people she serves. She is to work quietly like a shadow so that the noble she serves does not even notice her.
Anna was to not use her ability to think with her head nor feel with her heart. She must just serve her master like she is their hands and feet. When Anna met Edith Rigelhof, as rumors said, she brought many suspicious incidents.
There was no need to speak of the relationship between Edith Rigelhof and her arranged marriage husband. But Anna was not the type of servant who felt remorse for the master she served. Anna remembers when Lize first entered the Ducal Family.
Although the little girl wore just rags, she shined brightly. Anna did not feel anything specific towards her, though. Maybe it was because she started working as a maid at the age of twelve. She knew what bad luck meant. Lize did not suffer from bad luck, so Anna did not commiserate with Lize.
However, Edith Rigelhof was different. Edith Rigelhof had no ‘line’ drawn when talking to her servants. She always asked Anna for her thoughts and listened to her answers. She was always the same as she treated everyone like they were a ‘person’. As if that was natural for her.
Anna cared for no one except for Edith Rigelhof. And that was enough for Edith Rigelhof. She was glad that Anna became a ‘person’ of someone who was not even her master. What could be merrier than that?
