Wouldn’t it bring you closer to your partner after the two of you have gone through several troubles together to come out stronger than before? But what happens if you and your fail to work together and decide to part ways but aren’t allowed to leave the island, thus leaving a longing heartbreak in the air?
A South Korean reality series titled “Single’s Inferno” was released by Netflix for viewers to watch and access the feelings the couple go through when they fight against all odds for their love to survive, but what happens if they still fail?
Well, after making waves with two successful seasons of the reality series premiered by Netflix, it is set to return with a bang for viewers to enjoy with new contestants for a third season. Directed by Kim Jae-won and Kim Na-Hyun, the reality series’ third season stars Kim Gyu-ri, a model, Choi Hye-Seon, a student at Ewha Womans University, An Min-young, a pilates instructor.
Yun Ha-Jeong is an employee at a medical clothing company. Yu Si-eun, a model. Choi Min-woo, Lee Jin-Seok, a bakery owner. Lee Gwan-hee is a professional basketball player, and Son Won-ik is a real estate agent. Yun Ha-bin, an actor. And Park Min-kyu, a coast guard.
Initially released on December 18, 2021, the reality series has aired 21 episodes to date, with each episode’s runtime ranging between 56 to 82 minutes, depending on the activities the series contestants perform. Well, the concept of the Korean reality series is quite simple. It just mixes the idea of a survival show with a hint of an idea that involves fighting for one’s intended love.
The series focuses on twelve single contestants trying to find the love of their lives by finishing several challenges while getting to know each other a little better. The series also captures the essence of friendship that develops between the participants with time, along with the awkward moments shared between couples while they try to overcome a challenge.
Recap
The previous season began with a bang as the new contestants were introduced to each other, each participating with the hope of finding their true love while spending time together and surviving different challenges together. The series starts with the panelists discussing the difference between the previous season and the one that was supposed to start while also discussing the response of foreigners towards the series.
The series begins with the arrival of the contestants, and they give a brief introduction before they start mingling with each other and discussing their ideal partner that they hope to find in the reality series. The first episode ends with the strangers cooking together while continuing their conversations, after which they are instructed to send a postcard to the person they have taken a liking to.
The following day, the female contestants are instructed to play a game where they get to win a date with two men of their choice. Before the final vote to go to paradise, Nadine decides to have a conversation with Dong-woo.
The next day, the formed couples come back from Paradise. The couples need to choose a new partner to go to Paradise, and the men have to play a game where they get an opportunity to win a date with two women of their choice.
The contestants are allowed to have a free conversation with each other that allows So-e and Yong-Jae to talk about their feelings for him, while the couples who went to paradise have completely different outcomes for their dates.
While on their Paradise trip, Nadine and Dong-woo discover some facts about each other that have the potential to change the course of their future relationship while Jin-young comes closer to Seul-ki. The following day, yet another challenge occurs, with the females engaging in it to win a date in paradise while So-e chooses Han-bin to go to Paradise.
Meanwhile, Jong-woo and Seul-ki come closer before it is the men’s turn to engage in the challenge in hopes of winning a date with their favorite lady to go on a date to Paradise. In the second episode, we witnessed Jin-woo and Seul-ki discussing their conflicting feelings between Jin-young and him while So-e and Se-jun come closer to each other.
The second season came to an end with the single making their final choice, as So-e and Se-jun decided to be together, Seul-ki decided to stay with Jong-woo, and Seo-eun and Yoong-Jae decided to be together.
Release Date
Single’s Inferno Season 3 episode will become available for viewers on Netflix on 19 December 2023, at 3:00 AM [E.T.], and will focus on the contestants getting to know about a similar island nearby that has another group of singles with the same goal.
The episode will witness the two islands merging into one, thus giving rise to jealousy between the contestants as the competition to win the attention of the one they are interested in arises.
