Cast, Plot, & More Details
In the latest rendition of “Road House,” Jake Gyllenhaal portrays Dalton, a former UFC fighter who assumes the role of a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys, only to uncover hidden secrets in this supposed paradise.
Joining Gyllenhaal are Jessica Williams as the bar’s owner, Daniela Melchior as Dalton’s primary love interest, Conor McGregor making his feature film debut as the antagonist Knox, Lukas Gage as one of the bar’s bouncers, and Billy Magnussen as Ben Brandt, potentially the true villain of the story.
Directed by Doug Liman, renowned for his work on “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and “The Bourne Identity,” and produced by Joel Silver, who also produced the original, the 2024 remake of “Road House” boasts a runtime of two hours and three minutes.
According to the Amazon Studios press release, “Road House” features Jake Gyllenhaal as Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter grappling with a troubled past and a proclivity for violence.
Dalton finds himself barely scraping by, relying on his lingering reputation when he catches the eye of Frankie (Jessica Williams), the proprietor of a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. She recruits him as her new bouncer with the aim of thwarting a violent gang, operating under the command of crime lord Brandt (Billy Magnussen).
Even when outnumbered, Dalton’s prowess prevails against Brandt’s crew. However, the situation intensifies with the arrival of Knox (Conor McGregor), a ruthless mercenary.
As the confrontations escalate, the idyllic tropical setting of the Keys reveals itself to be more perilous than any challenge Dalton faced in the Octagon.
