Tickle, Richard, and the other illegal alcohol distillers will be coming back with a new season filled with unique flavors and dangerous encounters with the law. With Jeremy Schwartz as the narrator, the show continues to be popular among fans despite being almost 13 years old.
Discovery’s Moonshiners is a docu-drama that revolves around the lives of moonshine producers who carry out secret distillations in the Appalachian Mountains of places like Kentucky, South Carolina, and Virginia. Each day, the alcohol distillers carry out their secretive production while making sure not to attract the attention of any local police officers.
With never-seen liquor production techniques and thrilling law-evading efforts, Moonshiners continues to be one of the highest-streamed docudramas on Discovery. The last season brought plenty of new faces and drinks into the picture, but now it’s time for something much more intense for all of the groups.
Recap
Most of the moonshiners were struggling to produce alcohol due to inflation. Copper, which was once worth nothing, was now comparable to the price of gold. Mark and Digger decide to bring back their hidden copper containers and other materials from the forest.
Since moonshine distillation is carried out in secret locations, Mark and Digger try to find the copper before it’s stolen and sold for hundreds of dollars by someone else. They successfully retrieve the containers and take them back home while also uncovering an old alcohol jar that they had hidden a few years back.
After coming back from the forest, Mark and Digger find out that local police officers are targeting them and will be carrying out an investigation soon. The same goes for Josh, as a fire marshal shows up to his house and asks questions about last season’s devastating house fire.
The fire had spread so quickly that Josh’s group couldn’t do anything but run to keep themselves hidden. Josh wasn’t at the house at the time the police officer showed up, but he was able to get confirmation that he was now under intense investigation.
Mark and Digger continue to struggle after losing their only water source. This causes them to bring out their old shovels and start digging to find a centuries-old spring. Richard tries to expand his business and goes on a journey to find good water for his mangler alcohol.
He soon finds a good partner, Daniel, and the two join their hands to produce high-quality moonshine. Copper becoming expensive increases the risk of precious moonshine equipment being stolen, so Richard and Daniel decide to put cameras all around their distiller.
This was also the season where Mike and Jerry started producing moonshine with the help of Popcorn Sutton’s son. Popcorn was a well-known moonshiner who only appeared in the first season of this Discovery series.

An all-new season of Moonshiners will start airing on January 2nd, 2024, and onwards. Fresh episodes of Moonshiners Season 13 will be coming out on Tuesdays, with each episode lasting for a total of 60 minutes. Moonshiners will be having around 20 episodes this season, with plenty of specials to keep us glued to the screen.
