Project No.9’s much-loved series, Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun has been renewed for another season. With Satou Gen voicing the main character Tomozaki Fumiya once again, the show will continue the storyline of our introverted yet skilled character who has decided to try his hand at this game called “Life”.
Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun, also known as “Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki”, is all about the titular character who is exceptionally skilled at the game Tackfam but lacks all kinds of social skills needed for a happy life.
However, after meeting another top player from Tackfam called Noname, everything changes for Tomozaki. With the help of Noname/Aoi Hinami, his classmate, Tomozaki decides to give life another chance and try to become a top player in both games.
The first season of this FUNimation-licensed anime came out back in the early months of 2021, and now after three years, the creators have revealed that another exciting season will soon be released by the studio in 2024.
Recap
Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki-kun’s first season began with Fumiya Tomozaki playing Tackfam, a popular online game with one of his classmates. As usual, Tomozaki wins the game, but sadly no one acknowledges his victory against a popular guy in school.
Fumiya Tomozaki hates the way some lucky people are born with good social skills and considers the game of life trash. While playing Tackfam, Fumiya noticed that the second-ranked player, Noname, was getting much better at the game. He has a hard time beating Noname as they keep coming up with ways to defend themselves.
Fumiya wins the intense match and Noname asks him if they can meet up somewhere soon. Fumiya is then shocked to find out that Noname, the second-best player in Japan after Nanashi, is none other than Aoi Hinami. Aoi is the epitome of a pretty Japanese woman who also happens to be Fumiya’s classmate at school.
Aoi is disappointed to see that Fumiya is the one she has been looking up to all along. Seeing the way Fumiya considered life to be bad and had given up without trying, Aoi decides to help Tomozaki-kun overcome his old views and become someone who is loved and cherished by everyone around him.
This starts Aoi and Fumiya’s journey of enjoying Tackfam and Life to the fullest. Every day after class, Aoi and Fumiya have a secret meeting where they come up with objectives to be fulfilled for the day that would help Fumiya gain more confidence in life.
The whole season was filled with exciting new tasks for Fumiya, which he would have never thought of in his old life. Meeting Aoi gets Fumiya to do insane things like participating in the student council elections, making new friends, and many more entertaining “mini-games”.
