Created by Breno Silveira, Dom is about a police officer and his fight against drug trafficking. The show released its first season on June 4th, 2021, and is currently airing its second season which was launched on March 17th, 2023.
The show is about a police officer named, Victor, who has spent his life focusing on one mission which is to prevent narcotics trafficking as much as possible. But during his venture, he figures that his son, Pedro, is also one of the drug addicts he has been trying to get his hands on.
Conflicts arise as Victor realizes that not only is his son a drug user but he is also one of Brazil’s most wanted criminals and when he is forced to choose between his morals and his blood. The show stars actor Flavio Tolezani as Victor Dantas, the righteous police officer, and Pedro’s father.
Gabriel Leone plays the role of Victor’s drug-addict son, Pedro Dom. The show also has Filipe Braganca playing Victor Dantas’ younger version in a few episodes. Isabella Santoni plays the role of Viviane alongside Raquel Villar as Jasmine.
The story has been praised for its great storytelling and complex characters. The show, What is Jamie Foxx’s Real Name? A Surprise For Fans, is one of the first Brazillian shows on Prime Videos and has definitely managed to keep its fans in a chokehold, wanting more.
Dom Season 2: Plotline
The previous season of the show revolved around Victor’s life and his attempts at preventing drug trafficking throughout his police career. He eventually finds that his son does not only use drugs but is also a criminal and not just any but Rio De Jenerio’s most wanted face.
Victor’s fight has to, obviously, take a backseat as he finds another really important mission in his life. He tries his best to protect his son from going to jail. He tries to get him out of his drug addiction and get his life back together. But this is not easy when you are the most wanted man in Brazil.
The previous season ended with Pedro finally getting arrested and going to jail, a place with no easy escape or is it. We start the second season, focusing more on Pedro than Victor, with Dom still in jail trying to figure a way out. The entire country is talking about Pedro as he becomes the headline for major newspapers.
This does not help his plan of escaping jail. He soon realizes that he might have to take up a separate identity, much like his father did years ago. While the son is planning another criminal activity while being in jail still, the father, Victor, is convinced that his son is never getting out of jail.
The story continues where it left off in the previous season just with way more complex story arcs and cliffhangers that make one jump out of their seats.
