Shin-Ei Animation’s Dangers In My Heart will get another season this year, where Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada will be preparing for their next & final school year. Based on Norio Sakurai’s 2018 manga of the same name, this anime will be taking us further into Kyotaro and Anna’s heartwarming relationship.
The Dangers In My Heart is all about a young middle school boy named Kyotaro Ichikawa who has chuunibyou tendencies, which means he has strong delusions that he is different or has special thoughts that others don’t have. In Kyotaro’s case, he believes he is a bloodthirsty killer.
He spends all his day fantasizing about ways to kill his classmates, with most of his attention going toward Anna Yamada, a perfect girl who is popular and works as a model when not in school. However, when Kyotaro gets to know more about Anna, he eventually develops a soft side for her and goes above and beyond to protect her from harm.
The new season will continue Kyotaro and Anna’s story, where they prepare for the new year and the opportunities heading their way. The second season of Dangers In My Heart will have the same voice actors, which include Shun Horie for Kyotaro, Hina Yomiya voicing Anna, Ayaka Asai voicing Chihiro, and Megumi Han voicing Moeko Sekine.
Recap
In middle school, no one knew what they were going to do in their lives, but Kyotaro Ichikawa wasn’t like the others. All his life, he kept reading murder encyclopedias and novels and wanted to torture all of his classmates brutally.
A major part of Kyotaro’s fantasies was Anna Yamada, a beautiful young girl who also happens to be working as a model on the side. Her perfect face attracted most of the boys and girls of the school, but Kyotaro was attracted for all the wrong reasons.
Things, however, take a drastic turn when Kyotaro finds out that Anna isn’t that cool and is an airhead who can’t keep boundaries or say no to others. Being an introvert, Kyotaro spends most of his time at the school’s unused library. This is where he runs into Anna eating a whole party-size bag of chips right after eating her lunch.
All of his old perceptions of who Anna was shatter right in front of Kyotaro, and a new spark ignites in his heart. After finding out about Anna’s less public side, Kyotaro develops feelings for her, and the two realize that they’re better people whenever they spend time together.
Anna and Kyotaro’s relationship at first seems unlikely, but as they hang out and help each other out with problems, they come to know how beautifully they complement each other. The first season of Dangers In My Heart showed Kyotaro and Anna’s new friendship, but the new season will showcase them as lovers.
