Synopsis
Kim Hye In, our main protagonist, comes from a poor family and hasn’t had the luxury to experience the good things in life. She had lived her whole childhood in poverty and was often treated as an outcast by the people around her. Ashamed and often embarrassed of her upbringing, she would lie to her classmates about her lifestyle and the ground reality of her situation.
However, things changed when she got involved in a murder case of a high school student. Hye In had met the dead girl before, and the two of them engaged in a conversation as her name Hae In, was similar to Hye In’s. She became the only eyewitness in Hae In’s death, which turned out to play in her favor. The murderer she had witnessed was told to keep hush in exchange for her transferring to Cheongdam High.
Cheongdam High was a highly prestigious school that was filled with students from the elite class of society. Hye In could not miss out on such an opportunity and took up what was offered to her. In the school, Baek Jae Na, who was part of a third-generation conglomerate, was considered the Queen and had most of the authority and power among her other peers.
Much sooner than later, Hye In encounters Baek Jae Na, and from there, she realizes that the most powerful girl in her school is the prime suspect in Hae In’s murder, and that she was the only witness to it. After that realization, Hae In was forced to confront Baek Jae Na, and prove that the case labeled as “academic suicide”, was actually a homicide and Jae Na was the one who orchestrated it.
The two of them then engage in mental warfare, where Hye In gives her all to solve the mystery of the murder case, trying to find out all the hints and clues that would support her suspicion of Baek Ja Na being the culprit.
