Fans of Anne Rice won’t have to wait too long for another adaptation of one of her best-selling books for television. The first episode of Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is scheduled to air in the first month of 2023, shortly after the popular debut of AMC’s other Interview with the Vampire series.
By blending literary fiction with overused romanticism, Rice crafts an almost perfect popular spooky horror for today’s reader. Will AMC be able to deliver her distinct style? Fans are curious if there will be any crossovers between Rice’s series and her past works.
The Mayfair Witches is based on one of the books Anne Rice first wrote for The Witching Hour. Family secrets, desire, and the influence of witchcraft are all part of the storyline. The Mayfair family’s history is described as “A complicated story of an evil unleashed in the 17th century Scotland, in which the first “witch,” Suzanne of the Mayfair, summons up the spirit she calls Lasher…a creature that marks her own doom and terrorizes each of her successors in return.”
