What is Inuyasha Anime About
Inuyasha follows the story of Kagome Higurashi, a 15-year-old high schooler who lives inside a Japanese shrine. Kagome’s grandfather takes care of the shrine as the family priest.
One morning Kagome falls into a well inside the shrine and travels back in time into the Sengoku period. She comes out of the well and finds a guy with long ears nailed to the tree with an arrow pierced from his heart.
Before Kagome could find out more about the location and the time, she got caught by the villagers and was taken to the head of the village, an old lady named Kaede.
The village then gets attacked by a monster who is searching for the Shikon jewel, and Kagome finds herself at the center of the chaos. Kagome’s cry for help reaches Inuyasha, who has been sealed to the tree for 50 years.
After the monster injures Kagome, the Shikon jewel comes out of Kagome’s body. The monster eats the jewel and attacks Kagome, intending to kill her. She is only left with one choice: either die there or free Inuyasha to save her life.
The Shikon jewel had an ample amount of spiritual power that could be used for both good and evil deeds. The rest of the seasons explore the story of Inuyasha and Kagome as they try to find the other half of the Shikon jewel to stop the evil people from corrupting the world.
