Season 1
Chicago PD seasons started with a very interesting one where we got the chance to connect with the officers. Chicago PD Season 1 had all the main characters, and it started with introducing them. The intelligence unit got a few heinous crimes for investigation, and they did the job of taking down the criminals.
These criminals were not the easy ones but rather the city’s most dangerous lawbreakers. The first season was an important season where we got to know about the characters and their relationships with fellow officers. It was an important stepping stone to start the whole series. Also, when it showed the actions, the expectations of the viewers went very high.
Season 2
By the end of season 1, the viewers can feel connected to the main characters already. Chicago PD Season 2 is the one season where more and more viewers joined the series and got hooked. The series started focusing on developing a few characters, and the main focus was Erin Lindsay.
She was there in Law & Order too. Here, she, her family issues, and her backstory was the focus; meanwhile, other characters’ background was also on screen. The season might become one of the most favorite ones for you. It can grab its viewers’ attention and interest.
It can get you emotionally attached, but if you’re wondering that it might not have criminal cases or some action, that’s not right. It does have a few crimes. The challenge for the officers is to investigate crimes along with emotional and personal dilemmas.
Season 3
Season 2 gave maximum attention to Erin Lindsay, who was playing the role of Sophia Bush. In Chicago PD Season 3, she had to leave. She was the lead character and was a part of the Chicago PD from the start, but in the third season, she left the show leaving behind a void that wasn’t filled again.
Nevertheless, the show tried to pick up its pace. There were new additions to the series, but none were able to fit like Erin. The complicated chemistry between Erin and Voight was missed a lot. However, other main characters were on their duties, investing in criminal cases and showing their bravery while catching dangerous culprits.

Season 4
If you ask viewers about their favorite season in Chicago PD, there is a higher chance that they might say Season 4. After the loss of the character, Erin, the show tried to reestablish itself, and it did in this one. Chicago PD Season 4 focuses on the other characters at a deeper level which connects them to the audience.
Also, there was a lot of action, so none of the episodes was a time waste. Fork in the Road was the most impactful episode of Chicago PD. So if you want a good balance between emotional scenes and action-packed ones, this one is the best, but before season 4, there are three more.
Season 5
Chicago PD Season 5 is the most thrilling season of the series. The team is busy investigating and connecting links from several dangerous criminals to reach a drug cartel. On the other hand, some of the most heartbreaking episodes came forefront, where personal stories and relationships were ruined.
Erin and Voight’s relationship was getting complicated day by day. Erin was proving her loyalty and trying her best to live a normal life. She gets along with Jay Halstead, and this relationship doesn’t work as well. She hated the fact that Jay was highly obsessed with a case. This situation was affecting their relationship a lot. So many tensions in Chicago PD Season 5.
Season 6
Chicago Season 6 introduced us to a new relationship that appears a little forced. So, this season received a mixed response from the audience, and they might have skipped several scenes. There were some scenes and stories which was a bit repetitive, and the new relationship was between Burgess and Ruzek.
They fell for each other, but the romantic angle of their relationship was not so captivating. Talking about the action, there was not a single strong and dangerous villain who could make the officers sweat. Atwater went undercover in the episodes, and Rphas was introduced in season 5. Even if you skip the season, you can get the context in the next season.

Season 7
The makers might have taken a rest in Season 6, but in Season 7, they came back on track. Chicago PD Season 7 returned to its roots, and the officers started solving shorter cases.
The balance between the officers’ stories and the investigating part was good. They went behind a serial killer who was attacking the homeless. Ruzek, Atwater, and Voight were the focus characters of this season.
Season 8
Chicago PD Season 8 was another season you can skip if you want. Viewers considered it as the weaker season compared to other ones. It is because of the repetitive storyline.
Some of the scenes lack originality, especially the ones with relationships. Character developments were boring, and the criminal cases were similar to the ones we saw in the previous seasons.

Season 9
Chicago PD Season 9 aired in 2021, and it is considered a solid comeback for the series. We can understand that the series has been running for years, so keeping the storyline fresh, is the toughest work here.
But, the writers and the team dug more into their skills to come up with more and more ideas. Season 9 revolves more around the character development of the lead characters. It also focuses on complicated relationships where there is always a question – will they or won’t they?
Season 10
Season 9 was a success, but Season 10 was repetitive and boring. Viewers consider season 9 boring. It is because of the relationship’s ups and downs, and the personal stories of the characters are a priority. Since Chicago PD is all about crime, action, and officers, people expect several action scenes.
But Season 10 seems a bit lost in emotional dramas and relationships. Burgess and Ruzek certainly have a very complicated relationship.
They had to deal with a lot while they were together, but people wanted them to come to a conclusion which is not happening. A few criminal cases were interesting by the end of the season. Still, people expected high from this season.
