How Do You Play? is a long-running popular South Korean Variety Show. It was first aired on 27th July 2019, and it’s still running due to its huge fan following.

The show is hosted by the master of comedy and variety shows, Yoo Jae-suk. So far, the show has aired a total of 190th episodes, and the upcoming episode 191 is all set to release this weekend with a little change. 

The native title of the show is 놀면 뭐하니. [ Nolmyeon Mwohani?], which means how to play. The show is also known by the name Hangout with Yoo.

The show consisted of Host Yoo Jae-suk and starred Yoo Jae Suk, HaHa, and Lovelyz’s Mijoo as the program’s foundation. Last year in September, Lee Yi Kyung and Park Jin Joo joined the show as the new cast members.

However, in June, it was announced Jung Joon Ha and Shin Bong Sun would leave the show, and the show will take a break for two weeks to return with a new concept. Last week, Saturday, July 1, 2023, an episode of How Do You Play? was released with a new cast member Joo Woo Jae.

It’s the beginning of a new chapter of How Do You Play? with six members  Yoo Jae Suk, HaHa, Mijoo, Park Jin Joo, Lee Yi Kyung, and Joo Woo Jae.

How Do You Play? Synopsis and Recap

The famous MC Yoo Jae-suk will discover how celebrities spend their day-off usually. In each episode, they will idol any actor in their show and spend the day off together with Jae-suk’s other friends too.

This show gained a lot of popularity due to its showing off how idols spend their leisure time and enjoy little moments between their busy schedules. 

Some celebrities will go for a workout, some will visit their family, or some will just stay at home and enjoy their comfort food. From comedians to K-pop to K-drama actors and actresses, everyone features on the show telling their work experience, some funny incidents and even sometimes playing little games. 

However, with the change of cast and producing staff of the show from July 1, it is being said that there might be a slight change in the show. In the last episode, 191, we didn’t see any celebrities featured. Instead, the new all-six cast of How Do You Play? Will go on a retreat trip. 

To start their journey with new members, the staff prepares a trip for them. But their little twist, they go on trips separately and with older folks. The members thought they would go together with staff, but later it was revealed they would be travelling along with the old folkers and in different buses.

It will be a short trip to Jamsil, but both buses will go from different routes. No doubt everyone will get an allowance, but will the allowance be enough for these grown-ups compared to old folks?

It was a fun episode as the members had to deal with and listen to older and act according to them. They will play games on the bus with them, accompany them while eating, and even walk with them.

On their way back to Seoul, the older women will reveal their favourite person who took care of them on the trip. This trip would bring them close together and make a lot of new memories.
