Veteran wrestler Mike Bailey, known as “Speedball” to fans, could be on the move! Reports indicate that both WWE and AEW are eyeing Bailey as his contract with TNA Wrestling nears its end.
Bailey, a Canadian grappler with a successful career spanning multiple promotions, began wrestling in 2006. He’s found acclaim in PWG, PROGRESS Wrestling, CZW, and more recently, TNA (now known as Impact Wrestling). He even made his debut for NJPW in 2023.
Veteran Wrestler Set for Free Agency
Bailey’s current contract with TNA, which was renewed in 2022, is set to expire later this year. According to Fightful Select, this upcoming free agency has piqued the interest of both WWE and AEW.
While official negotiations can’t begin until his TNA contract is up, sources reveal that Bailey has supporters within both major wrestling companies. TNA itself is also expected to make a strong push to re-sign the 33-year-old wrestler.
It’s important to note that Bailey’s contract doesn’t include the one-year extension option some wrestlers have. This clause allowed TNA to retain Josh Alexander until at least February 2025.
Given Bailey’s impressive track record and experience across various promotions, it’s clear why major wrestling companies see him as a valuable asset.
