For the summer action season, Scott Waugh (The Expendables, Need for Speed) brings us a flick with Jackie Chan and John Cena. Hidden Strike will make its way to theaters telling the story of an odd pair of special force agents in a post-apocalyptic world that will put them against a group of bad guys who are in the business of trafficking fossil fuels.
Summer action films are incredibly popular, and banking on this, XYZ Films plans to roll out an action-packed punch with world-famous wrestler John Cena and martial arts superstar Jackie Chan. Hidden Strike will give audiences the opportunity to immerse themselves in exciting worlds with high-stakes situations as the duo will cross a desert to move civilians and cargo in moments of peril. Expect the thrill factor coupled with the adrenaline rush from watching daring stunts —like the one Jackie Chan always gives us with his remarkable fight scenes.

The trailer begins with John Cena on top of an airplane turbine detonating something, then several cutscenes let us know that we’re going to be taken to a post-apocalyptic world where a war for natural resources has devastated the earth, but John Cena and Jackie Chan, who seem to be at odds with each other in their respective storylines within the movie are teaming up to save whatever’s left of the world after the war for fuel.
Several action scenes with cars and trains in the desert and many more with oil tankers on some deserted port ensue as the trailer goes on to explain that a team of vigilantes is teaming up to deal with the bad guys.

Will Hidden Strike 2023 Be On Streaming?
XYZ Films plans a theatrical release of this feature film by Scott Waugh and doesn’t plan to couple the theatrical release with a streaming platform release. In that sense, we’ll have to wait until the movie finalizes its theatrical run, and then we could expect it to land on streaming platforms, but we don’t know which one because there’s not enough information yet.
Hidden Strike Took Quite A While To Make It To Theaters
Originally called “Snafu,” the project encountered many obstacles preventing its completion. The team worked on overcoming numerous challenges to move forward with the project, and the final output underwent multiple alterations before completion. Despite the difficulties encountered along the way, the final product was good enough for a theatrical release; let’s see how that went.
Back in 2018, John Cena went public saying that he was working on an action movie; that movie was Hidden Strike. But a few details left the film in production hell. While the filming for the project had been completed, the road to release was equally rocky due to undisclosed details.
Then we had the COVID-19 pandemic, which was a major obstacle that halted the release of “Hidden Strike” due to theater shutdowns in both the U.S. and Chinese markets.
John Cena Continues To Smile At The PCC
As Hidden Strike heads to the big screen, additional factors come into play. A key issue is the changing social context, which now shapes how Chinese and American stars are perceived by audiences. John Cena is an example of this, having publicly spoken on sensitive topics related to Beijing, such as Taiwan’s status during the international launch of the ninth Fast and Furious movie.
