The latest chapter of Helmut: The Forsaken Child will be airing this week! Previously, readers enjoyed a much more lighthearted addition to the Manhwa amid the ongoing intense attacks on Helmut and his companions.
Helmut: The Forsaken Child tells the story of a young child who was left alone to fend for himself in the Demonic Beast Forest. He was abandoned at birth and was adopted by the Demonic Beasts living there, who taught him how to use the sword.
One day, a swordsman named Sword Saint Darien comes across the Forest and meets Helmut. When he realizes the amount of skill and talent Helmut had as a child, he quickly takes him along into the human world to make him a swordsman. Helmut must adjust to this new setting and fight to protect his people.

Chapter 48 of Helmut: The Forsaken Child opens with Alea healing Asuka’s injury, which, if not healed quickly, could have done vital damage to his body. However, instead of giving thanks, Asuka merely tells Alea that his powers are unexpectedly good and walks away, giving a rather off-putting reply.
Seeing him walk away with arrogance, Alea gets mad and wonders why he even helped him in the first place. Sian tries to calm him down and tells him that despite Asuka’s bitter personality, he is still at the top of his class. Helping him now could benefit them in the future when they need any aid.
Helmut joins in and says he doesn’t need anyone else to help him and that he can do everything on his own. Sian sighs and simply tells Helmut that one should never have to constantly work alone, and having friends who will lend a hand is also as important as self-sustainability.
He tries to emphasize the importance of friendship and teamwork, which makes Helmut think more about what it means to maintain a relationship with others. Sian and Alea, on the other hand, begin bickering in the background about their friendship with each other.
Later, Asuka, Helmut, and Sian are all summoned to the Dean’s office regarding the attack yesterday evening that injured Asuka. Though the four suspects were imprisoned right after, it seems that they fled from their cages and were free. One of the guards was in on their escape plan, which made it successful.
The Dean cannot offer them much comfort but tells them that they are currently working with the swordsmanship department to find out further information. Hearing this, Asuka was enraged as his life was now more threatened than before, as the culprits were now let loose.
After they left the Dean’s office, Sian also left Helmut and Asuka and asked for updates if the Dean had more information. The two of them begin bickering, and Asuka taunts Helmut, hoping for a reaction. He begins following Helmut around and tries to know more about him.
Helmut simply tells him he’ll be going to practice and doesn’t want to engage in further conversation with him. He walks into the teacher’s training area, which makes Asuka jealous, and shuts the door in his face, denying him any entry inside.
By the end of the chapter, we find out that Sabbat was behind sending the men from Black Hawk to ambush Asuka. Till now, he was safe as the nobility was protecting him and his friends, but by the looks of it, it seems that he is planning to attack Helmut and Asuka once more.
