Heartstopper Season 2 starts off with Nick and Charlie in the early stages of their relationship. Even though their bond is perfect and beautiful, there are other challenges in their lives that are weighing their mental health down. First of all, is the fact that it is tough for Nick to come out in front of his family and friends.
And as for Charlie, he still has issues with bullying and his past, which is taking a toll. As for Elle, she has started dating a new girl, which means that her friendship with Tao is on the brink. Also, Isaac has feelings for Tao but is struggling to deal with them positively.
In the last episode of the season, titled Perfect, we see Elle has finally accepted Tao’s proposal to be his girlfriend. We also see Nick and Charlie getting ready for prom together. Nick has finally come out to his folks, but he will have to deal with their opinions about his sexuality.

While the kids are at prom, we see Darcy has not joined the party yet. As for Isaac and Tori, they are feeling a tad bit awkward. As for Elle, she has finally decided to go to Lambert and tells about her decision to Tao. On the other hand, it is obvious that Imogen and Sahar have an affinity towards one another.
Tara and Darvy then continue to have a very cute moment. We saw how Darcy had to sleep in a park where Tara meets with her and told her about her true feelings and love. As for Nick, he asks Charlie to tell him how he is really doing. Turns out he has been hating himself because of society’s projection of homophobia.
Also, it has been very tough for him with all the self-harming in the past and how he used to cut himself. Nick takes a vow to be always there for him, and they kiss at their prom night in front of everybody. It was truly a beautiful end to the season, and kudos to Netflix for doing it once again, making our hearts flutter with joy with a prom kiss.
The ending really brought out the optimistic nature of the show, and it revolves around the themes of love and friendship as well as acceptance. There even have been many positive confessions from viewers who admitted having the courage to come out after watching the show. Even though the ending did not come to a conclusion definitely, it was clear that all the characters feel happy and settled, and that is all that we want to see.
