On February 24, SM Entertainment introduced its latest girl group, Hearts2Hearts, marking the company’s first girl group debut in four and a half years since aespa. The highly anticipated debut took place at the YES24 Live Hall in Seoul, where the eight-member group held a special media showcase in front of eager fans.
Their debut album, The Chase, features two tracks: the title track “The Chase” and the b-side “Butterflies.” The group performed both songs for the first time at the showcase, leaving fans in awe of their vocal prowess and stage presence.
Jiwoo’s Confident Response to Competition
During the Q&A session, a reporter asked the group about debuting at the same time as Starship Entertainment’s new girl group, KiiiKiii.
Leader Jiwoo responded with grace and confidence, saying, “Rather than feeling pressure, I think we can become a positive influence as we work together. We will work hard. Our unique charm is connecting with our fans through our music, so we will show a good side of ourselves while making our music stronger.”
Korean netizens praised Jiwoo’s composure, with many noting how well she handled the question. Comments on Instiz included, “They are already throwing difficult questions at rookies…” and “She handled the question well. I don’t understand why the reporter had to ask that.”
Meanwhile, Hearts2Hearts also took the opportunity to announce their official fandom name, strengthening their connection with supporters. With a powerful debut and a confident leader, the group is starting strong in the competitive K-pop industry.
