Amanda Elizabeth Davies, aged 42, the daughter of One Life to Live actress Erika Slezak, has passed away, as confirmed.
“It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Erika’s daughter Amanda Elizabeth Davies who died very suddenly. The family is heartbroken and would appreciate privacy at this time,” a message on Slezak’s official website read.
A representative for Slezak also verified Davies’ demise. No further details are currently accessible.
Davies portrayed the teenage version of her mother’s character, Victoria “Viki” Lord, on ABC’s One Life to Live, making appearances in 2003 during flashback scenes. Her father, Brian Davies, known for roles in films like American Gigolo and The Age of Innocence, is also an actor. Erika Slezak and Brian Davies share another child, son Michael Davies, aged 44.
The soap opera aired from 1968 until its cancellation in 2012, with a brief revival in 2013.
Slezak garnered six Daytime Emmy Awards for her enduring portrayal of Viki on One Life to Live. Her late father, Walter Slezak, a Tony-winning actor, also made an appearance on the show.
“This just broke my heart. My thoughts are with dear Erika at this time. I know how much she loved her children,” expressed television journalist Michael Fairman in a post on X following the news of Davies’ death on Monday. His tweet featured a photo of Slezak and Davies sharing a smile.
Last summer, Slezak conveyed condolences following the passing of her One Life to Live costar Andrea Evans, who played teenager Tina Lord in the series. Evans succumbed to cancer in July 2023 at the age of 66. Slezak and Evans’ characters were portrayed as half-sisters on the soap.
“Andrea and I worked together for so long,” Slezak wrote on her website at the time. “On her first day at work, she was living one block away from me and I walked her to work. She was just a child — never been to N.Y.C. — so sweet and kind and loving. Amazing that she played such a complicated, confused and selfish character so well.”
Redirecting her attention to Evans’ husband, Stephen Rodriguez, whom she married in 1998, and their then-19-year-old daughter, Kylie, Slezak continued her heartfelt post. She also extended her “love and deepest sympathies” to Rodriguez and Kylie, emphasizing that they were “her whole life.”
“When she and Steve got married and then got Kylie, it seemed her life was finally complete,” Slezak wrote. “She was so happy. So very very sad.”
