HBO revealed on Thursday the forthcoming debut of its second hour-long comedy special starring comedian and actress Nikki Glaser, titled “Nikki Glaser: Someday You’ll Die.”
Scheduled to premiere on Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, the special will also be accessible for streaming on Max.
Following Glaser’s critically acclaimed 2022 HBO hour “Good Clean Filth,” which earned a nomination for a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Comedy Special, this new installment was recorded in front of a vibrant audience at the Moore Theater in Seattle, Washington last December.
In “Someday You’ll Die,” Glaser delves into an array of topics, including her decision not to have children, the realities of aging, her candid sexual fantasies, and contemplations on her own mortality.
“Someday You’ll Die,” both written and performed by Glaser, is directed by Emmy winner Hamish Hamilton. Executive producers include David Jammy, Chris Convy, and Alex Murray.
“I’m so grateful that once again, HBO has put their trust in me to say what I feel into a microphone while wearing a tiny dress,” Glaser told.
“Someday I’ll die, and when I do, I hope I’m remembered for this performance (and this dress).”
Added Nina Rosenstein, EVP, HBO Programming, Late Night & Specials,
“Nikki is at the top of her game and continues to fearlessly take on the most unexpected material in the most hilarious of ways. We are so happy to have her back for her second special with us.”
Currently on tour with her global stand-up show “Nikki Glaser: The Good Girl” until September, Glaser has previously released specials such as “Bangin’” on Netflix and “Perfect” on Comedy Central.
She is the host and executive producer of “Lovers and Liars” (formerly “FGirl Island”), a female-oriented spin-off of the reality dating series “FBoy Island” on Max and CW, premiered on The CW on April 11.
Glaser also hosts “The Nikki Glaser Podcast” for iHeartMedia and Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Podcast Network since 2021, following her stint as the host of “Not Safe with Nikki Glaser” on Comedy Central and co-hosting “Nikki & Sara Live” for MTV.
In addition to her comedic endeavors, Glaser has appeared in films such as “I Feel Pretty,” “Trainwreck,” and “Punching the Clown,” as well as various television series.
She is set to host “Late Night at the Hollywood Palladium” in Los Angeles on May 10 as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest. Glaser is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Ginsburg Daniels Kallis.
