Halloween 2018: Michael Myer’s Film Plot, Reception

Universal’s Halloween is the current sensation in America at this time. The movie is just out in the USA and has done terrific business throughout theatres in North America and by that I mean it has earned a staggering $77.5 million in the ticket sales across some 3000+ screens in North America alone. Halloween released as a sequel to the 1978 movie by the same name. It is directed by the very talented David Gordon Green and is actually 11th in line to the Halloween series. It is set around Haddonfield, Illinois and is a face-off between Michael Myers (Nick Castle) and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis).

Halloween: Plot

The movie directly picks up events of 1978 when two podcasters Aaron Korey and Dana Haines are piqued by the life and times of Michael Myers. As you may recall Myers was shot at Doyle house balcony by Dr Samuel Loomis and captured there after. He’s getting his treatment at Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, the same place Korey and Dana are travelling to for his interview. The doctor at Smith’s Grove Sanitarium, Ranbir tells Korey and Dana that Myers wishes not to speak. Aaron doesn’t take that for an answer and tries but all in vain. He even mentions the name of Laurie Strode but nothing. Laurie Strode was the only survivor of gruesome murders that happened in 1978 and is dealing with PTSD whilst firmly believing that Michael Myers will make a comeback one day. Aaron and Dana then visit Laurie and thus the story begins.
