Hajime no Ippo: Chapter 1420 Recap

Previously in Hajime no Ippo, Kumi is wondering why things have not been going anywhere romantically with Ippo. She recalls a conversation she had with her friend, who tells her that Kumi should try harder to make Ippo aware about her feelings and intentions. Kumi tells her friend that even though they got drunk on an overnight trip, nothing really happened and she is starting to think and Ippo does not find her attractive at all.

Kumi;s friend tells her to keep at it and her efforts will succeed. On the other hand, Ippo makes his way to Kumi’s apartment where he wants to cook fish together. After reaching her place, he gets to know that her brother isn’t home. Kumi asks Ippo if he wants to watch the fireworks and she turns off the light to see them better. Kumi and Ippo begin leaning in for a kiss, when Ippo sees someone standing in front of the house.

Kumi can feel Ippo’s face close to her but she realizes that Ippo was staring out of the window instead. Kumi asks what the problem is and tells him that no one is standing there. Ippo and Kumi lean in for a kiss again when Ippo spots someone again. After a couple of failed try, they turn on the room’s lights. Both of them are extremely shocked to see Kumi’s brother Masushiba sitting at the table and quietly watching them.

Ippo asked Masushiba what he is doing at home since he is supposed to be at the training camp, and Masushiba menacingly asks Ippo what he was doing with his sister. Kumi tries to defend Ippo, saying that she asked him to come by her place but Masushiba is not having it. Masushiba asks Kumi how many times she has bought Ippo home in his absence. Then Masushiba asks Ippo what he was intending to do with Kumi tonight in a menacing tone.
