Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 will see itself tagging along with Station 19 next time around. Yes, another cross-over event is in the making. From the promo, it seems like the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital is about to take a big hit. Anyway, before we move to the same, there are a few things to look at. Recently on the show, Megan revealed to Hayes a big truth she has kept away from Owens, with whom she recently got married. She has a son, and she had bought him for diagnosis to Hayes.
Apart from that, we saw the return of Richard Webber recently. As he came back, he had a lot of plans that may change the way the hospital has worked for years. For the very first time, The Residents will be starting to take risks right from the beginning. Apart from that, we also had Owen and Noah treating a patient much close to the latter. Jo took care of the delivery of a premature child, and lastly, Amelia and Addison worked together to connect. So let’s take a quick look at what went down.
Grey’s Anatomy S18 E04 Recap
Previously on Grey’s Anatomy, we had Richard Webber returning as the director of the residency program. Furthermore, he had new plans for the Residents, which not everyone saw eye to eye with him. Amelia and Addison were busy working on a patient who started seeing before Addison left. So she had stayed up, hoping to get back to her. Lastly, we had Owen and Noah bringing a leader from the VA meeting they were attending after the leader suddenly collapsed right in front of them. Hayes and Jo come across a pregnant woman in premature labor. So while Hayes takes care of their baby, Jo looks after the women.
So starting off with Richard Webber’s plan, he cleared everyone’s surgical schedule and, from now on, wants the residents to perform the basic surgeries. As in the lap/coly surgeries while the surgeons watch on and take over when necessary. The idea doesn’t fit well with Bailey initially, but Meredith agrees with Richard. She also assures Bailey too. There came one casualty in Helm’s case, though. Still, Richard saw the plan as a success as 13 surgeries went successfully and hoped to move further. Even Meredith was pushing it despite Bailey’s concerns.
Meanwhile, Owen told Noah that Roy had lung cancer. Roy had spent their entire life fighting and was willing to continue to do the same. At the same time, Owen promised to find the person behind putting fibrosis inside Roy. Well, he went on to confess he was the one behind it. At the end of the day, Roy didn’t make it during the surgery. Amelia and Addison had a hard time connecting as they operated on this patient. Things even got personal, but at the end of the day, they together went on to give this person a second chance.
Jo was attending the pregnant woman with a careless boyfriend. He stated they had been dating for only one month and didn’t realize it. On top of that, he wanted to leave soon. Jo allowed it, and although the woman was scared and felt alone, she assured her that they were there. She successfully carries on the procedure, and the mother meets her baby soon. Meanwhile, Hayes was treating Megan’s son Farouk who she was keeping away from Owen.
