April 3rd was one of the most anticipated nights, as it would have made history if BTS won their first-ever Grammy. However, this time as well, the boys didn’t receive the award which emerged a lot of questions, especially about the Award Show. 2022 marked the second time BTS got their Grammy nomination. The boys as well as the fandom were excited about it, however, the thought of 2021 did lurk behind a bit. This is not the first time the Grammys have snubbed BTS.
However, this time it truly felt that the boys were going to win it. Though they didn’t, did it make any impact on the current position they hold, as artists and as record breakers? Well, the answer is no. BTS has their Las Vegas schedule as packed up as they gear up for the PTD concerts which are just a few days ahead.
Grammys Snubs BTS Once More
The Grammy night was a star-studded night where the stalwarts of the music came and put their best foot forward. One of the most anticipated artists was, no points for guessing, BTS.
In the Grammy 2022, BTS was like the main characters. Before the show, even some celebrities mentioned how they support the boys and want them to win the gramophone. Butter was the group’s 7 times No.1 Billboard winner English single. Even without releasing an album in 2021, BTS has swept away the majority of the award shows, and naturally, the fandom was hoping that this time the boys might win at the Grammys.
However, this time as well the Grammys didn’t give the boys their deserved trophy. ARMYs noticed how, before the winner was announced Jungkook and RM tightly geld each other’s hand, and after the announcement, Jimin and Suga hugged each other. Though it was kind of expected given the fact, that it’s not the first time the Grammys has snubbed BTS. However, to some point it was heartbreaking. Tweets started flooding, starting as how though sad, this was expected from the Grammys to how BTS doesn’t need Grammys, it’s the Grammys who needs them.
There is a kind of ritual that the boys always perform a vlive after their Grammy or Billboard Awards. This time as well, Namjoon mentioned that they are a bit sad, however, it’s ok to be sad today to be happy tomorrow. Naturally, though they anticipated their win, ‘ Kiss Me More’ was a clear winner for them.
BTS Is And Will Be The Main Character
Well, a Grammy will be another award in their already overflowing bag of trophies. As Suga mentioned in their vlive that Grammy was a stoppage on their way to their 4 sold-out PTD Concerts. Even though it was said on a casual note, it is the fact. The Grammys doesn’t decide the kind of artist BTS is. It’s for the people to decide and by far it’s been well established how the boys changed the lives of so many people. That’s where they become clear winners and successful as artists.
Now in the fandom, the Grammys is more popularly known as the ‘Scammys’ as every time they use BTS for views and clout. BTS’s Butter performance at the Grammys, hands down was one of the best acts of the night. They performed Butter with absolute finesse. That night the entire music industry saw the kind of performers they are.
In 2021, the timing for BTS’s performance was changed and was put in the last part and we all know why. BTS has been attending the Grammys since 2019. The first time the boys went as award presenters and in 2020 they shared the stage with Lil Nas X. In 2021, they got their first Grammy nomination for their smashing English single hit Dynamite. However, unfortunately, they couldn’t perform it live due to the ongoing pandemic situation. Though the group put on a splendid performance, still didn’t win the Pop Duo/ Group Performance as the award went on to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for ‘Rain On Me’.
