Audiences were thrilled to hear that the adventures of Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee will continue in 2025. We will see another season of Dark Winds on AMC.
The network announced that Jenna Elfman and Bruce Greenwood will join the cast as guest stars for the upcoming season.
Dark Winds is based on Tony Hillerman’s detective novels and is set in the 1970s in a remote town in the Navajo Nation.
Elfman will play FBI Special Agent Sylvia Washington, while Greenwood will portray Tom Spenser. Another returning series regular is Deanna Allison, along with guest star A. Martinez.
Dark Winds was created by Graham Roland, with Robert Redford and George R.R. Martin serving as executive producers.
Dark Winds Season 3
The season has already begun production in New Mexico. However, fans will have to wait until early 2025 to see the new episodes.
Other guest stars include Raoul Max Trujillo, Tonantzin Carmelo, Alex Meraz, Derek Hinkey, Phil Burke, Christopher Heyerdahl, and Terry Serpico.
The first two seasons of Dark Winds focused on Joe Leaphorn, a tribal police lieutenant in Kayenta town, Navajo County.
He teams up with Jim Chee, his new deputy and an undercover FBI agent, to solve various crimes with mysterious twists.
These cases often lead them to confront dangerous killers in their town. In the upcoming third season, set six months after season two, Leaphorn and Chee investigate the disappearance of two boys.
They only have an abandoned bicycle and a blood-stained patch of ground as clues to unravel the mystery. Jessica Matten, a series regular, will reprise her role as Bernadette Manuelito.
She’s trying to adjust to her new job with the Border Patrol. However, her plans are disrupted when she finds out a conspiracy involving human and drug smuggling.
