Golden Kamuy Episode 12 Recap

The chapter starts with Asirpa, Shiraishi, and Sugimoto on the same ship as Oosawa to find Ainu gold. Shiraishi tells the way the Botaro pirate was taking; he may already know where the Ainu first hid the gold. Sugimoto reminds him that he also said that’s not enough to find on it its own.

Shiraishi asks him if he thinks the rumors that the tattooed skins are worthless. Sugimoto tells him they should ignore it and keep looking for the skin. Meanwhile, Oosawa is planning to do something. He goes to the deck where Sugimoto and Shiraishi are and tells them they are at their last stop, Ebetsu Port.

He tries to keep their attention on him and says that is a Whole Mountain of gold in Ainu. They get convinced by Oosawa, but Oosawa does that so his subordinate can aim a gun at their back. However, Asirpa figures out Oosawa’s plan and hits the gun with her arrow. Sugimoto gets the opening to attack Oosawa.

The ship diver turns the ship from beneath a tree branch, which causes the people on the deck to fall into the water. Sugimoto and Oosawa also fall into the sea. Oosawa holds Sugimoto and takes him deep inside the sea, so he can drown him, as Oosawa can stay inside to water for an hour.

Sugimoto tries to get out of his hold, and when he manages to get out of his grip, Oosawa again holds his leg with his long hair. Shiraishi jumps into the sea to rescue Sugimoto. A group of Yupe (fish like sharks, but not dangerous) comes towards them. Sugimoto uses that chance to get away from Oosawa and manages to return to the surface, while Oosawa’s hair gets stuck in the ship motor.

Later Sugimoto helps Oosawa, as he only knows where the gold is. Sugimoto make a deal with the Botaro pirate and tells Oosawa they should work together. They find that lots of things are happing in Sapporo. At the end of the chapter, we see Tsurumi getting ready to leave for Sapporo.
