December 7, 1989, was the day when Satoru Gojo was born in the anime world of Jujutsu Kaisen, and it has taken place in the hearts of many people forever. Most birthdays are the day of celebration and enjoyment like any other Birthday. This year, Gojo’s birthday is celebrated more like a funeral, filled with sadness and grief.
The Jujutsu Kaisen fandom is not happy with the fate of the Strongest Jujutsu sorcerer in both manga and the anime series. As we know, Gojo was sealed off on October 2, 2023, in episode 33, In the incident of Shibuya from the manga chapter 236.
The Shibuya Incident
(SPOILERS) Gojo was the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu, even rivaling and surpassing the king of curses himself, Sukana. He was focused and pledged to protect the people from the cursed spirits. However, when he saw that there were flaws in Jujutsu Sorcerers society, he became a teacher at Jujutsu High, which is a school dedicated to the education of the younger generation of Jujutsu Sorcerers.
As soon as the Shibuya incident began, the enemy lowered several curtains over Shibuya, trapping everyone inside so that no one could exit.
While hundreds of people are trapped inside of the curtain, putting their lives at high risk. And there are also barriers below that Jujutsu Sorcerers can’t escape. With all the people, Sorcerers, and Villains, it is very hard to focus on the safety of people while fighting Villains.
Satoru Gojo arrives where civilians are trapped, and soon, he gets the hunch of enemies’ plans. He then proceeds to the Fukutoshin Line Platform, where Hanami, Jogo, and Choso are waiting for him. While Gojo makes fun of them, they stand confident in their plan. After that, Gojo fights with them and tells them they are going to die, and later in the fight, Gojo kills Hanami.
After some time, a train arrives filled with transfigured humans, and as soon as the gates open, they start attacking people there. On the train with all the transfigured humans, there was also Mahito. He came out and started to fight with Gojo to experience how powerful he was.
At this moment, Gojo has to save all the people there from the transfigured humans. So he cast an unlimited void for just very few moments and killed all the transfigured humans, which made him exhausted, giving an opening to Geto to cast Prison Realm on Gojo and trap him inside.
This incident shows that Gojo is sealed in the Prison Realm during the fight with Geto and other villains. After he killed Hanami and 2000 other transfigured humans in just a few seconds, he was exhausted from this move, and that is when Kenjaku distracted him and made Gojo drop his guard. This was when the Prison Realm took over him. The Prison Realm was specially made for Gojo, which is why it is impossible to break out of it.
Jujutsu Kaisen Fandom Cries Over Satoru Gojo
The fandom is crying because of the Shibuya incident and what happened with Gojo. If Gojo is sealed, who is the most powerful sorcerer in the Jujutsu Kaisen world, and is there no one else to fear? Soon, it will be hell for the Sorcerer and also for all the humans.
Yuji also lost his mentor and friend. While all of these fans predicted sealing meant Gojo could break it, which he did in the manga series. But, later, he died at the hands of Sukana in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc.
After learning of all the incidents, this news spread like wildfire because this was not expected at all because Satoru Gojo was the most powerful sorcerer. In many parts of the world, people lit candles for his death even if he is an Anime character, and this shows how loved he was by the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom.
