Choi Yul will be making a plan to get the most out of the dungeon while the Private is busy dealing with a monster in the city. It remains to be seen whether or not Jack will be part of his upcoming plan. But Yul already has an advantage that will be tantamount in Gods’ Gambit Chapter 14 for his loot.
The main characters in the manhwa are usually given a skill or set of knowledge that makes them the head of the wolf pack. This is a trait that is all too common in every action manhwa these days and is here to stay. However, we are seeing variations in that formula, with the MC being given a cheat skill with a drawback.
In the case of Yul, his gift allows him to get a lot out of a dungeon, but only if he clears it alone. The rewards are distributed equally to everyone who took part with him in the raid. Thus, this action series is not only about the MC being better than everyone but also about using his smarts to get the most out of the dungeon dives.
Recap
Gods’ Gambit Chapter 13 starts with the Platoon commander leaving for the main base. His colleagues were teary-eyed by his departure despite all the reluctance they showed when he came and disciplined them. Commander Kwon leaves, and it is then we learn that they are crying tears of joy for their commander leaving the base.
They jumped around and started hooting for their re-earned freedom and the things they would get to eat that night. Their local base’s commander watched in silence and let them enjoy it, as he thought it was important for them to have regained their vigor. However, he soon ate those words when he realized that those soldiers wanted to wrap him in their stupidity.
We are then brought to Yul being given a buff of some sort by one of his allies. The buff allowed him to feel less pain and, in turn, made him more reactive. Yul was thankful for the blessing, but his friend warned him that it was a blessing as well as a curse and that he should be careful with it.
Spoilers
Gods’ Gambit Chapter 14 will run the story in two places, one at the Platoon commander and the other around Yul. In the last chapter, the fantasy series saw the platoon commander Kwon being attacked in the city. He encountered miscreants who didn’t care about the law, and yet Kwon couldn’t take action against them as they were weak.
Meanwhile, Yul was busy emptying one of the empty houses and fighting enemies with blessings. The blessing (or the demon king blessing, to be precise) made the monsters stronger than usual, similar to the one that Yul had come across. Yul, as usual, was not alone in his expedition, but just like usual he had a plan.
Commander Kwon was also working on those bases as he came across a powerful demon. The demon even put a crack on the artifact that the platoon commander had gotten not so long ago. However, Kwon had a backup that followed them to their place.
