He served as the main antagonist of the infamous Chimera Ant arc. Because of being the strongest child of Chimera Ant Queen, he possessed immense strength and stamina. Since his birth, Meruem was a master at using Nen, and he possessed a vast amount of aura. Because of his origin, Meruem was very proud and cruel in nature. Initially, he planned to end humanity and keep only a few but like cattle to feed on. However, he changed after meeting Komugi. Meruem began to acknowledge humanity and wanted humans and Chimera Ants to co-exist but only humans in controlled quantity.
