Marvel’s upcoming film, Captain America: Brave New World, is set to offer a unique experience compared to previous Captain America movies. With Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers stepping down, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson now holds the name, shield, power, and responsibility.
At Fan Expo Chicago, Giancarlo Esposito, who joins the MCU as Seth Voelker, aka Sidewinder, teased a new aspect of his role, saying, “You will see me do things that you’ve never seen me do before.” Esposito described his version of Seth as “a scientist” with “a great mind.”
Known for his roles as more sinister characters, Esposito will bring something new to Sidewinder. He mentioned that while he has portrayed intellectual villains like Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Sidewinder will be different.
Giancarlo Esposito’s Past Roles Have Prepared Him To Be the Marvel Villain
Esposito shared, “Acting is using every part of your body, your emotions, your senses, your feelings, to portray something. But you haven’t seen me use my body in a way that I’ll be using it. The MCU’s exciting.”
Giancarlo Esposito’s past roles have prepared him for his new Marvel character. Although Gus Fring was a sharp-minded villain, the early looks and teasers from Brave New World suggest that Seth Voelker will be much more involved.
Besides his roles in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Esposito has also played memorable villains in The Boys as Stan Edgar.
Esposito’s debut in the MCU with Brave New World is exciting, especially since he’s already proven his skill as a villain in other franchises, like his role as Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian.
With recent projects like Abigail and MaXXXine, showing his willingness to embrace intense roles, fans are eager to see how he will portray Sidewinder and lead the Serpent Society in this new film.
