Crunchyroll shared new footage from Gachiakuta Season 2 at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles. This gives fans around the world their first clear look at what’s ahead for Rudo and the Cleaners.
The reveal took place during a dedicated panel titled “Gachiakuta: Return to the Pit!” at the Peacock Theater on July 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. The title was a fitting choice because it connects directly to the anime’s story, where the privileged residents of a floating city throw away both their garbage and unwanted people into a dangerous wasteland known as the Pit. The panel gave fans a closer look at what is coming next for the popular dark fantasy series.
The event featured three important members of the anime’s team: Aoi Ichikawa, the voice of protagonist Rudo, director Fumihiko Suganuma, and producer Naoki Amano. They first looked back at the highlights of Season 1 before showing exclusive new material from the upcoming season. This gave fans in attendance their first chance to see what Season 2 has in store.

Season 1 ended around Chapter 87 of Kei Urana’s manga, with the finale revealing that Tamsy was behind one of the season’s major mysteries. Based on the manga’s story progression, Season 2 could move into the Information Broker Arc, which covers Chapters 91 through 116. The anime may then continue into the First Job Arc, which spans Chapters 117 through 130.
These story arcs could bring major developments for Rudo and the other members of the Cleaners. Fans can also expect the anime to follow more of the world surrounding the Pit and the mysteries connected to its characters.
