Indie developer Molleindustria has delayed the Steam launch of its upcoming satirical adventure game Future? No Thanks! after Valve extended its review process to assess scenes containing mild nudity. The game was originally scheduled to release this week but remains under review while Steam completes its content evaluation.

The developer shared the update on Bluesky, explaining that the review has lasted more than three weeks despite the game’s limited adult content.

Valve continues review over mild nudity

According to Molleindustria’s Bluesky posts, the developer believes the delay stems from Steam’s need to examine scenes featuring what it described as “dozens of untextured polygons depicting ass and boobs.” The post jokingly suggested Valve was carefully evaluating the game’s content before approving its release.

Molleindustria later clarified that the issue is likely procedural rather than censorship.

“I believe the delay is due to the mild nudity not warranting an age verification plus Steam not accepting video documentation to examine the content, which is not immediately accessible in the game.”

To help Valve inspect the content, Molleindustria revealed that it had to prepare a custom version of the game specifically for reviewers.

“I literally had to submit a special build with a ‘watch the sex scene’ button.”

The developer also noted that the publicly available Future? No Thanks! demo is virtually identical to the final release and had already passed Steam’s review months earlier. While no revised launch date has been announced, Molleindustria says the game will be released as soon as Valve completes its assessment.
