Futurama Season 8 Episode 8: Recap
The series focuses on the adventures of Philip with Leela, and the robot goes on while working at Planet Express. The previous episode titled “Zapp Gets Canceled” witnessed Kiff reporting Zapp Brannigan after having enough of the mental, sexual, and physical abuse, who then gets canceled by the space federation.
Zapp is forced to undergo emotional training under Dr. Kind, who puts two other abusive captains and Zapp through the wringer. Meanwhile, Leela feels that she has reached the dead end of her career.
Soon, Leela gets hired as Nimbus’ new captain and brings Fry and Bender along to a planet full of airbag people who greet each other by groping. Meanwhile, Leela becomes uncomfortable after learning that peace talks are a way for airbag people to siphon the air.
Dr. Kind is revealed to be a canceled captain, and he threatens to poison the planet’s air with durain. Meanwhile, Zapp permits Leela to kill Dr. Kind with a laser.
The episode ends with Zapp being restored as Nimbus’ captain, and Leela gets discharged. Leela then makes a return to Planet Express with a new-found appreciation for her job.
