From Dreams To Freedom is the story of a frustrated High School Student, Choi Jeong-Min. In a nutshell, Jeong-Min is in a tough situation. When she was in middle school, there used to be a loner kid in her class, Ha Ju-Hyeon.
Jeong-Min took pity on her and invited her into her friend group. The other girls in her group all had bad experiences with Ju-Hyeon and warned Jeong-Min against it. However, all their pleas fell on deaf ears.
Jeong-Min would soon regret her actions. Ju-Hyeon became obsessed almost. She wanted to spend every second of every day with her. Furthermore, Ju-Hyeon was trying to isolate Jeong-Min from her other friends so that she would hang out with just her. Jeong-Min realized her possessive behavior and went back to her old friends for help. They helped her avoid Ju-Hyeon.
The next time Jeong-Min saw Ju-Hyeon was in high school. It’s been a couple of years, and things took a turn for the worse for Jeong-Min. It soon becomes apparent that Ju-Hyeon is anything but friendly.

Kang Na-Hyuk tried to rile Si-Yoon up by talking about Jeong-Min. He puts ideas into his head about how Jeong-Min will leave him for someone else and so on. Si-Yoon reacted almost in an alarming way. Na-Hyuk gave back Jeong-Min’s phone and escaped. Si-Yoon went back only to see Jeong-Min talking to a friend from school and getting very aggressive.
Jeong-Min was able to calm him down. Furthermore, Ju-Hyeon wanted to meet to apologize for her behavior toward her. She also informs her that she will be transferring schools the next year and, therefore, this will be the last time they see each other. Jeong-Min is starting to realize this relationship is not healthy. It has come to the point that Si-Yoon is overly dependent on Jeong-Min for his happiness. He acts very hurt whenever he feels as if Jeong-Min is keeping secrets making Jeong-Min feel guilty. This is exactly what Jeong-Min wants. For her to always cater to him. From the looks of it, their relationship might be ending.
Cho Jae-Hyuk has been trying to get in touch with Jeong-Min, and she has been ignoring him. But after getting home from their date, she decides to go meet him. She told him how she didn’t want to talk anymore and that he should forget about him. He begs and pleads with her, but she rejects all his advances. After Jeong-Min gets home, we see Si-Yoon standing over Jae-Hyuk’s body with a bloody knife in hand.
