Frieren ends up helping a priest named Sein from the quicksand which the latter is thankful for and wants to return the help. The opportunity presents itself when Stark is bitten by a snake, and Sein helps him using his healing magic.
Stark is impressed with the magical abilities that Sein has and thus he intends to ask the latter to join the party which Frieren doesn’t mind. However, Sein rejects the offer saying that he had already given up on the same about a decade ago even though it was his dream.
This situation reminds Frieren of the time when Himmel was trying to recruit her to join his party and thus she intends on taking Stark on the journey and making him realize his dreams even after a decade of giving up on it.
Thus, Frieren doesn’t leave until they have Sein join the party. This force has the latter talk with his brother and realizing that he regrets not going on an adventure every day, Sein agrees to join the party and go on an adventure.
