It seems like former EastEnders star Katie Jarvis has landed herself in severe legal trouble. The actress has recently pleaded guilty to racially aggravated harassment! The former actress played the role of Hayley Slater in the hit BBC One soap from 2018 to 2019.
While she previous pleaded not guilty to the charges, but later went on to change her plea the day her trial had been later scheduled to take place at Basildon Crown Court. The actress earlier also played the lead part in the 2009 drama Fish Tank.
The Actress Faced Several Allegations In The Hearing!
The court reportedly heard that Jarvis had with the intent to cause not only harassment, alarm or distress but also used threatening, abusive words or behaviour to several people in Southend-on-Sea. It was also claimed that on the same day, the actress assaulted a man who worked at a bar as well.
Cyrus Shroff, who was prosecuting, stated that the victim was in the position to allow a child to use the toilet in the bar and Jarvis accepted spitting at the ground but not in his direction. While Katie Jarvis had initially also pleaded not guilty to other two counts of assault by beating during the incident. However, these allegations were not addressed in the recent hearing and Jarvis will again be sentenced for racially aggravated harassment and common assault charges.
The former soap star was pictured by the paparazzi as she was seen chatting on the phone outside Basildon Crown before the case was heard. As Jarvis held a black bag in her arms she was wearing a black and white patterned shirt, hoop earrings and a black scarf for the court appearance. The actress earlier quit the BBC soap in 2019 and later it was revealed that she is working as a security guard at B&M in Romford. Katie later admitted in an interview that she was rather shamed for the job but she believes that the job kept her grounded and as far as acting gigs are concerned they, just come and go.
