This past weekend saw the premiere of the 49th season of Saturday Night Live (SNL), which is hosted by Pete Davidson and features musical guest Ice Spice. Ice Spice made her musical guest appearance on the night with an upbeat rendition of “In Ha Mood” to open the evening. Rema joined her for “Pretty Girl,” her second song of the evening. Rema is featured in the song.
They are making their sixth musical guest performance on Saturday Night Live and their first since drummer Taylor Hawkins’ tragic death in March 2022. The writers’ strike, which ended in October, caused the episode to be canceled even though they were scheduled to play in May.
Taylor Swift, a friend and partner of the program, made a guest appearance at Saturday’s SNL season opener. In addition, early in the evening, Travis Kelce made an unexpected cameo in a sketch that featured Taylor Swift.
FOO FIGHTERS returning for Saturday Night Live
On Saturday Night Live, the FOO FIGHTERS are set to return as the musical guests for the show’s October 28 edition. Comedian and emcee Nate Bargatze will be on stage with them.
The Foo Fighters’ Everything or Nothing at All Tour, which will see them play 12 performances overall, is scheduled to stop in 10 different locations throughout the course of the summer of 2019. Two shows at Citi Field in New York in July will serve as the launch pad for their stadium tour of the United States. This 2024 tour follows the 2023 publication of their album, “But Here We Are.”
The Pretenders and the Hives are scheduled to join the band on certain dates throughout the tour as special guests. On different tour dates, Mammoth WVH, Alex G, Amyl and the Sniffers, and L7 will also perform with the Foo Fighters.
Everything about Foo Fighters
Seattle-based rock group The Foo Fighters was founded in 1994. The band was founded by Dave Grohl, the former drummer of Nirvana, as a solo project. Dave Grohl is still the lead singer and guitarist, while Nate Mendel plays bass, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear play guitars, Rami Jaffee plays keyboards, and Josh Freese plays drums.
To release his solo music after Nirvana broke up in 1994, Dave Grohl founded the Foo Fighters. He brought on Pat Smear, who had toured with Nirvana before, and Nate Mendel and William Goldsmith from Sunny Day Real Estate before their first self-titled album came out in 1995.
Their first show took place in Portland, Oregon. Nevertheless, Goldsmith quit the group while “The Colour and the Shape,” their second album, was being recorded, forcing Dave Grohl to redo most of the drum parts. Not long afterward, Pat Smear also quit the group.
Franz Stahl took the place of Pat Smear and William Goldsmith on guitar and Taylor Hawkins on drums. But before the group could begin recording their third album, “There Is Nothing Left to Lose,” which was released in 1999, Stahl was fired. After recording “There Is Nothing Left to Lose,” the band continued as a trio for a period until Chris Shiflett joined, completing the nucleus of the group.
Then, in 2002, The Foo Fighters released “One by One,” their fourth album. The two-disc album “In Your Honor” from 2005 came next, with a combination of harder and acoustic tracks. “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace,” their sixth album, was released in 2007.
With 15 Grammy Awards to their credit, The Foo Fighters have excelled especially well, taking home five wins in the Best Rock Album category. With this accomplishment, they rank among the most successful rock groups in Grammy Awards history.
They were also selected to accept the first-ever “Global Icon” award at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards. Furthermore, they were admitted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, the year they became eligible.
