The 65-year-old rapper, known for his time in Public Enemy and hit song “Fight the Power,” admitted he was stunned by the recognition, stating, “I don’t feel I’m sexy.” His reaction echoed genuine astonishment.
Flav expressed his disbelief in an interview with Rolling Stone, revealing that he didn’t see himself as someone who would be included in such a list. “It surprised me big because I don’t feel I’m sexy. I was surprised to see it,” he said. This candid admission showed his humility and genuine surprise at being included in this prestigious group of celebrities.
Flavor Flav recalled a past encounter with a woman who bluntly called him “ugly” but still asked for a photo. “There was a lady that came up to me in the airport and said, ‘Ooh, Flavor Flav. You so ugly, but I want to take a picture with you.'” Despite the remark, Flav responded with grace, saying, “Okay, come on. Take the picture. Let’s go.” He further shared that he had been told he was “ugly” by others over the years but chose to stay positive in those moments.
