Recently, in the global audition show “Universe Ticket” held by SBS, a Filipina participant made her way to the rank #1. This marks history as no international participants have ever topped any K-pop survival show before.
However, netizens claim that the reason Filipina topped the first rank was due to the vast popularity of the show globally and not being widely popular locally. The show runs on public voting, so it can be true that the contestant gained more votes from an international audience.
The contestant of whom fans are proud is none other than Elisia, as she becomes the one to win #1 on the show. Elisia has been one of the popular contestants on the show since it started. Because of her dedication to her dream of becoming the next K-pop idol, she achieved the place she deserved.
Path To Achievement
Universe Ticket is an ongoing audition program at SBS from where six female trainees will make their way out to be the next K-pop idol. The show’s voting is based on PRISM rank and audience voting.
Elisia, one of the contestants who had been in first rank since day one, finally made it to P rank, which means direct debut. Elisia made history by being the first Filipina to achieve so.
Although Elisia is just 14 years old, she managed to reach the top rank with her amazing talent and love for K-pop. Her vocals and choreography are both stable during performances, which allows her to get more votes from audiences.
She received a total of 553,493.4 points from audiences, and with an overall total of 781,987.1 points, she made her P rank the first one in the show to achieve so in such a short span.
Another Filipina contestant, Gehlee Dangca, got a total of 518,852.4 points, allowing her to get second place with overall points of 758.755.5 points, just a few points from getting into the P rank. Fans are speculating she is the next one to join Elisia.
The third position was achieved by Korean Lim Seowon, with an overall score of 78,783.2 points. However, her rank is very low, at 8th in terms of voting. Lim Sewon has to work harder to get the attention of the audience in terms of voting.
She won because of International Fans
The show “Universe Ticket” has a very low viewership in South Korea. The average rating is only 0.7% in South Korean viewership. This points out only one fact: most of the votes come from the international audiences of the show.
However, it is proof that K-pop has a huge number of followers worldwide and that non-Koreans are also showing huge interest in joining the K-pop industry and becoming idols just like their biases or ult K-pop artists. The Korean entertainment industry should not neglect the power of Global audiences.
Who is Elisia?
Elisa’s full name is Elisia Lyrisse C. Parmisano. Her nationality is Filipina, and she is currently 14 years old, making her the youngest contestant on the show. Elisia started her acting career at the age of 6, acting in a few local ads and dramas.
Elisia even had her YouTube Channel at the age of 6, where she would post children’s content and daily vlogs. Elisia has had a talent for music and acting since childhood, and growing up as a K-pop fan, she always wanted to become a K-pop idol one day.
Since day one at Univers Ticket, she has become one of the spotlights of the show. The mentors and judges also gave her positive remarks always. With this new achievement, Elisia has proved that dreams can come true if we work hard.
