While one Colleen Hoover adaptation is doing great at the box office, another is adding new stars. Deadline has reported that Dave Franco will join the cast of “Regretting You,” the upcoming film based on Hoover’s novel. Mckenna Grace and Allison Williams will also appear in the film, with Williams playing Morgan and Grace portraying her daughter Clara.
This update comes as “It Ends With Us,” featuring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, has made $50 million in the U.S. and $30 million internationally, totaling $80 million, all on a $25 million budget.
Franco will play Jonah, Morgan’s new love interest after her husband’s death. He became known in the early 2010s for his roles in comedies like “21 Jump Street” and “Neighbors,” working with stars like Channing Tatum and Seth Rogen.
Recently, Franco was nominated for an Emmy for his work as a producer on “Pam & Tommy,” a series with Sebastian Stan and Lily James. His latest role is in the A24 thriller “Love Lies Bleeding,” which stars Katy O’Brian and Kristen Stewart and was directed by Rose Glass.
What Have the Other ‘Regretting You’ Stars Been Up To?
Grace, known for her roles with Margot Robbie in “I, Tonya” and Paul Rudd in “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” has recently voiced Natalia/Nocturna in “Batman: Caped Crusader,” a popular animated series on Prime Video. She also appeared as Paige Swanson in “Young Sheldon” from 2018-2023.
