Actor Hunter Schafer was one of many war protesters apprehended at NBC’s Manhattan headquarters during President Joe Biden’s Late Night with Seth Myers appearance earlier this week, organizers confirmed Wednesday.
The 25-year-old Euphoria star was part of a group of more than 100 demonstrators who packed the lobby at 30 Rockefeller Plaza on Monday afternoon to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war, the group Jewish Voice Peace said.
Schafer and fellow demonstrators donned black shirts bearing the message “Ceasefire Now” and “Not in Our Name,” while vocalizing chants like “Let Gaza Live,” during the arrival of Biden’s motorcade at the location.
Videos and images shared by Jewish Voice Peace captured the scene. Hunter Schafer, along with others wearing face masks, was observed seated on the floor, while behind her, a banner was displayed stating, “Jews to Biden: Stop Arming Genocide.”
Representatives for Schafer did not respond to messages seeking comment on Wednesday. However, protest organizers indicated that she and others are scheduled to appear in court sometime next month.
