Kanal 7’s Esaret, also known as Redemption, is finally coming out with its Season 2 this week. With last season ending on a shocking cliffhanger, we’ll finally be able to see how Orhun deals with the fact that Hira is still alive.
First seen in November of 2022, Esaret is an absorbing romance drama that centers on a slave girl named Hira and a rich, well-known businessman, Orhun Demirhanli, who blames Hira for his sister, Nihan’s death.
After a series of events, their heartwarming story came to an abrupt end by the end of season 1, when Hira was shown to have passed away in an accident. Esaret Season 2 will pick off right from here. Mahassine Merabet plays Hira, while Orhun’s role is portrayed by Cenk Torun.
Esaret Season 1: Recap
The first season of Esaret began with Orhun finding out that his only sister was killed while working as a volunteer in Eritrea. When he investigates the cause behind her sudden death, it’s revealed that a local gang had coerced a slave girl into poisoning Nihan at work.
This causes Orhun to take that girl, Hira, as his slave and treat her horribly so that she can pay for what she did to her sister. Orhun doesn’t question what was found out even once, even though Hira wasn’t the real killer behind Nihan’s death.
As the episodes go on, Orhun eventually finds out the truth and apologizes to Hira for what he did to her. Orhun lives with his aunt Afife and her daughter. His cousin, Eda, and her mom also live with them, and Eda seems to have feelings for Orhun.
Eda tries her best to get Orhun to hate Hira, but her plans don’t work out, and Orhun and Hira get back together and fall for each other. By the end of Esaret season 1, we see that Hira and Orhun end up in a terrible accident in a remote area.
Orhun takes Hira to the hospital, where she’s taken to the ICU immediately. Meanwhile, Aunt Afife and others try to find out which hospital Orhun is at. Eda blames herself for what happened, and while she’s talking on the phone with her mom, she ends up in an accident, too.
Hira’s condition gets worse, and Orhun’s injuries cause him to keep fainting. When Orhun finally gains consciousness, he is informed that Hira has unfortunately passed away. Orhun is unable to handle the pain and shuts himself out completely.
However, as episode 160 comes to an end, we see that Hira’s hand moves slightly while she’s kept at the morgue. This exciting cliffhanger is where Esaret Season 2 will be continuing from.
