The two main protagonists of the Turkish television series Esaret are Hira, a slave who has lived her entire life in captivity, and Orhun, the Demirhanli family’s heir who is driven by a deep desire to exact revenge for the murder of his sister. It is clear that falling in love in such a situation will be difficult for both of them the moment their two worlds collide.
Synopsis
Orhun, a prosperous businessman, shares a home with his twin sister Nihan, his younger sister Nurşah, and their estranged mother Afife, who, despite the fact that they are her children, acts somewhat icy and distant towards them. However, Orhun is a loving family man who loves and takes good care of all the women in his life.
However, since their twin sister Nihan left their family to serve as a volunteer doctor in Eritrea, Africa, it has gotten more and harder to get in touch with her lately. This worried her family more than anything else, especially Orhan, as she was not the kind of person to stay MIA for so long.
Orhun decides to find his sister and bring her back home since he is concerned about both her sudden disappearance and her general well-being. In his pursuit of Nihan, Orhun comes across Hira, a helpless young woman who has lived her entire life in the care of human traffickers.
Hira revealed to him all she knew when he asked her about the location of his sister, but Orhun was horrified to find that Nihan had been poisoned and killed by the gang that had abducted Hira. Orhun could not pardon Hira when it was discovered that she had poisoned his sister regardless of the fact that she was coerced into doing so.
He devised a strategy to exact revenge on Nihan’s murderer since he was unable to cope with the sudden knowledge that he had lost his beloved sibling. He plans to bring Hira home with him and make matters harder for her rather than save her.
When Orhun’s mother, Afife, confesses to her son that she had been lying to her children about their father’s death and that he was actually alive, the situation escalates even further. Orhun intends to wed Hira in an effort to drive his mother mad because he is fully aware of Afife’s hatred for the underprivileged.
As the two of them begin to spend more time together, the growing love between them becomes undeniable, and they start to have real feelings for one another. Amid all this chaos and ill circumstance they are in, will Hira be able to set herself free from captivity and live happily with Orhun? Or does fate intend to keep her miserable.
