Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and owner of X (formerly Twitter), continues to reach new milestones in his career, both financially and professionally.
Most recently, Musk became the first person in history to surpass a $400 billion net worth, according to Bloomberg.
This remarkable achievement comes after a series of successful ventures, particularly his electric vehicle company, Tesla, which has seen a 75% surge in value since the US presidential election.
Musk’s wealth has grown exponentially, making him the wealthiest individual on the planet, with a gain of $218 billion in 2024 alone.
Much of this increase has been attributed to Tesla’s stellar performance, alongside his other business ventures, including SpaceX, Neuralink, and the Boring Company.
In addition to his personal wealth milestone, Musk also witnessed a significant achievement for Tesla.
The company’s stock price hit a new all-time high of $420, marking the first time the share price surpassed this threshold since Tesla’s stock split in August 2022.
This is particularly notable, as in 2018, Musk had famously teased taking Tesla private at $420 per share, but the company remains publicly traded.
This increase in Tesla’s stock value has sparked significant social media reactions, with many praising Musk’s leadership and the company’s continuous growth.
On the political front, Musk’s influence has expanded even further. He and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy were appointed by US President-elect Donald Trump to lead the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.
The initiative aims to provide advisory services to the White House, focusing on large-scale structural reforms and fostering an entrepreneurial approach to governance.
DOGE’s mission is to drive efficiency and reform within the US government, offering innovative solutions from outside the traditional governmental structure.
This appointment further cements Musk’s role not just as a business mogul, but as a prominent figure influencing both the tech and political landscapes.
Tesla also hosted a groundbreaking event, “We, Robot,” showcasing advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics. Musk unveiled Tesla’s self-driving taxi and demonstrated the company’s humanoid robot, Optimus.
These developments are part of Musk’s broader vision to shape the future of AI and robotics, which could transform industries ranging from transportation to healthcare.
