Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis are joining forces in a new movie called Goodrich. They play a father and daughter in a story written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer, who is known for Home Again. The film will hit theaters on October 18, thanks to Ketchup Entertainment.
The chemistry between Keaton and Kunis is noticeable, and they show the complicated relationship between an absentee father and his daughter from a previous marriage.
The trailer for Goodrich shows right away that Keaton’s character, Andy Goodrich, loves his family and his job, but these two parts of his life often clash. When his wife enters a 90-day rehab program, Andy needs to figure out how to balance his job at a struggling art gallery and the care of his nine-year-old twins.
His adult daughter from his first marriage, Grace (played by Kunis), steps in to help. Even though her father was mostly absent during her childhood, Grace supports him with a touch of sass. Watching her dad become a better parent to his younger kids is painful for Grace, but it might also help her heal more than she expected.
The movie’s cast is full of talented actors including Carmen Ejogo, Andie MacDowell, Laura Benanti, Michael Urie, Poorna Jagannathan, Kevin Pollak, Vivien Lyra Blair, Nico Hiraga, and Danny Deferrari. Goodrich is Meyers-Shyer’s second film, following her 2017 rom-com Home Again. She comes from a family of filmmakers, with her parents being Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyers.
