EA has officially revealed EA Sports FC 27, confirming that the latest entry in its football franchise will launch on September 25, 2026, for both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch.

The announcement was accompanied by the game’s first trailer, which showcases several new gameplay additions designed to expand both online and single-player experiences.

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé will headline the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition cover art, while Jude Bellingham appears on the Ultimate Edition Plus. EA says this year’s installment focuses heavily on community feedback, introducing new gameplay mechanics alongside major updates to Career Mode, Football Ultimate Team, and Clubs.

EA Sports FC 27 introduces The Grounds and a redesigned Career Mode

One of the biggest additions in EA Sports FC 27 is The Grounds, a new social football hub that expands the Clubs experience beyond traditional matches. Players can participate in casual kickabouts, competitive events, and explore three football-inspired districts while customizing and developing their footballer.

The mode also features guidance from football stars Kylian Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, and Paulo Dybala, alongside Alex Hunter, the fan-favorite character from EA’s former The Journey story mode.

Career Mode is also receiving a significant overhaul through a rebuilt Transfer Market powered by TransferRoom. According to EA, transfers will now reflect club finances, player potential, current form, and market demand, while introducing smarter negotiations and competitive bidding between clubs for greater realism.

Football Ultimate Team receives a new collection system

EA Sports FC 27 also adds the Football Ultimate Team Gallery, allowing players to preserve and showcase player items collected throughout the season. Completing themed collections across clubs, leagues, nations, and campaigns increases a player’s Gallery Level while unlocking additional rewards.

Beyond its new modes, EA says gameplay has been refined with improvements inspired by community feedback, including enhanced ball control, smarter attacking movement, dynamic corner routines, and more balanced AI defending.

Speaking about the new features, John Shepherd, Vice President and General Manager of EA Sports FC, said:

“In EA Sports FC 27, we are delivering more ways for every player to play, with brand new experiences that mark a major step forward.”

He added that features such as The Grounds, the redesigned Career Transfer Market, and the new FUT Gallery are intended to strengthen players’ connection to both football and the wider community.
