Four unexpected random bachelors tried their luck at romancing one of the greatest, most colorful, and most loved actresses on Monday morning. The contestants joined The Drew Barrymore Dating Game. The contestants are hand-picked by Howard and Beth, his wife, alongside Gary Dell’Abate, executive producer, and a group of songwriters, a martial arts educator, a comedian, and a Broadway actor, and Jonathan Blitt, Stern show staffer.
As per Howard, he feels Drew is a catch, so they try to set the bar too high for the four bachelors. The rules are pretty straightforward, Drew cannot see any of the men, but she can ask them questions to find the right match. Before Drew appeared on the show, Robin and Howard, the show hosts, had already introduced the contestants to the listeners.
The first contestant Joshua Radin, 48, is a singer and an animal lover. He has performed at Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi and Ellen De Genere’s weddings. Howard asks him if he wants to meet someone and settle on a bit high. Radin replies that he has always been ready but never actually found the right person.
Drew Barrymore Dating Game: What Was it About
It was thought that Joshua would be the right match but her connection with Clarke Thorell, contestant 2, looked even deeper. He is an actor, Broadway musician, and singer. Howard said that this guy had done everything, including dating my wife. Beth told with a giggle that she met Clarke when he was performing on Broadway. A few years later, they went on a date. Howard asks him why a guy like him is not married yet. To which he replied that he has been in some beautiful, amazing relationships, and he still had a love for everyone in his heart, but he felt there were bits and pieces of his mother in all the girls that he dated.
Howard continued, bachelor number 3, Diego Lopez, is not a slouch. He is a mixed martial artist and a stand-up comedian. Robin added that he is an interesting addition to the set, comedians are funny, and they cannot fight. Diego affirmed to Howard and Robin that he was ready for love and said that anything like a long-term would someone like Drew would be great.
At last, contestant number 4, Jonathan Blitt, was introduced, and Howard stated that he could not see him beating the other guys, to which Blitt replied that he could not see it either with a laugh.
Finally, a Winner
The up and down between the four contestants lasted for a while, but it was time to pick the final winner. Howard told Drew that he was convinced that she would fall in love and have a great life experience, but the decision was hers to make. Finally, after a bit of pushing, Drew chose Clarke Thorell.
Clarke and Drew met each other soon, but before that, it was time to call Joshua, Jonathon, and Diego. All of them were good, and Joshua even said that he had not done anything like this before and that if it felt right in the future, he will get back to Drew in the future. To all this, Drew said that she has never done anything like this, and she will invite all of them to her next gynecologist visit, so she can feel less vulnerable.
Finally, Drew and Clarke meet. She greets him and states that she is happy to meet him before telling Howard that, according to her, he is the safest choice because he has already had chemistry with another woman. She is walking with very open eyes, and she prefers honesty, she has been deceived in the past and doesn’t want to go through that again. Furthermore, she has made up her mind and wants everyone to know that she wants to take it very slowly. On the other hand, Clarke cannot believe that Drew chose him, and it feels surreal. He was honored that someone like Drew, who is beautiful inside and out, chose him.
It is yet to be seen if Clarke and Beth will fall in love in the future, but Drew is thankful to the show’s hosts that they cared enough to set her up.
